CARRIED SELVES AND ADAPTED SELVES AND WHO AM I REALLY?

Who is this person giving me the answers? The common thread of who is doing
the talking, the one who knows what they are talking about - whoever she is
I’d really like to meet her.

She first appeared in counselling back in 2003 following shutdown and
fragmentation. For years I had lived in self deprivation and following a
work place injury and consequences I eventually found myself in front of a
staff counsellor. My gut feeling felt good but then things changed. We went
through a dance and came out the other side.

Unfortunately my inner protectors tried to take over again and to a large
extent did. However, this woman who appeared to be getting advice from a
male spirit guide would do the talking when she felt safe. She appeared to
have great wisdom.

In 2006 I did a twelve month online course Jewels of the Christ Mind. During
this year my Mum was diagnosed with secondary cancer and died.

The wise woman did all the writing for the course and it is only now in 2009
that I understand this woman to be my core self (primary self).

From this material of core belief balancing I have been able to identify
core beliefs, why I take on other people’s pain and why I have developed
these inner protectors, particularly the one who appeared around age 14 and
acted like I was the scum of the earth and didn’t deserve anything.

It is such a relief to have this material as now I no longer have to live
with this fear of ‘getting lost again‘. Now I understand that if and when I
am triggered I don’t have to go into exile, I can work from my aware adult
and from there bring in help from selected protectors when and if necessary.

I’ve just finished Growing Awareness Book 3 and still have books 4,5,6 and 7 in front of me.
